The word "Cult" is an emotive word because it represents an emotive subject. A cult is a group, which often damages their members emotionally, spiritually, financially, and sometimes even physically. Cults break up families and shatter friendships. But cults cannot survive when people know their secrets: The secrets Cult Leaders go out of their way to prevent people discovering. We at CULTWATCH are dedicated to exposing these secrets. Read on to discover the information they do not want you to know. |

What
is a cult? There
are two primary definitions of a cult. The
modern definition of "Cult" refers to any group that uses
manipulative psychological “Mind Control” techniques to recruit and
control their members. To learn more about these techniques read the
CULTWATCH article "How Cults Work". Most people, except cult
leaders of course, accept that using mind control is a fair reason to
classify a group as a cult. On this site to denote a group that is generally
acknowledged to be a Mind Control Cult look for this symbol
Secondly,
the historical definition of a cult is any group, which claims to be
a Christian group yet teaches something that is not primarily
a Christian belief. For example a group that teaches Buddhism, but claims
to be Christian is a cult under the historical definition, but not if
they claim to be Buddhist. The issue is one of deception. This definition
is still of vital interest to Christians but is considered passé by
others. On this site to denote a group that is generally acknowledged
to be a cult in the historical sense, look for this symbol
What
about cult members? CULTWATCH believes most cult members to be sincere people. One of the primary purposes of CULTWATCH is to help those people see the “other side of the story” - the side their leaders would rather they not see. Our dislike is for the various cult systems and organizations, but not for cult members themselves. Therefore we recommend that you never treat a cult member unkindly. Instead encourage them to research their group independently; help them to discover the other side of the story.

A Cultwatch special investigation
has revealed the rise of a false apostolic ministry in the Body of Christ.
"Super Apostles" who claim an exclusive line to God are seeking
to dominate Christians. Churches under these Super Apostles are employing
Mind Control on a significant scale and are seeking to trick other Church
leaders into joining them. If you are a Church Leader, or you have been
increasingly hearing phrases like "Local Church", "Apostolic
Ministry", "Authority", "Theocracy", "Submit",
then it is recommended you read this warning, by clicking here. |

The International Church of Christ has branches around the world. Usually their branches have the words “Church of Christ” in their name. Another way to spot them is that they sing acapela, that is without instrumental accompaniment. This cult targets students on campus, in malls and on the street. If you know someone in the 18 to 27 age group you must warn them before they are approached. This cult is adroit at recruiting young Christian students. Find out more by clicking here.

Their official name is “Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints”. This group claims to be Christian yet teaches things which most people would immediately recognise as very unchristian. For example, Mormons believe Jesus and Satan are brothers, and that God came from a small planet near the Star base Kolob! Find out more about this cult by clicking on this link.

Their official name is the “Watchtower Bible and Tract Society”. At CULTWATCH we have seen many people damaged by this group. Find out the information they do not want you to know here.
